Heisenberg & Schrödinger Get Pulled Over…

| News

Mac Geek Gab listener Chad sent us a note on Friday with a joke. It's a funny one about Werner Heisenberg and Erwin Schrödinger, chock full of nerdy humor. Two physicists speeding in a car? What could go wrong, right?

Heisenberh & Schrödinger Get Pulled Over...

In any event, the joke:

Heisenberg and Schrödinger are driving, and get pulled over. Heisenberg is in the driver's seat, the officer asks "do you know how fast you were going?" Heisenberg replies, "No, but I know exactly where I am!" The officer looks at him confused and says "you were going 108 miles per hour!" Heisenberg throws his arms up and cries, "Great! Now I'm lost!"

The officer, now more confused and frustrated orders the men outside of the car, and proceeds to inspect the vehicle. He opens the trunk and yells at the two men, "Hey! Did you guys know you have a dead cat back here?" Schrödinger angrily yells back, "We do now, jerk!"

We aren't sure who originally created this joke, but it did appear on Reddit a while back. We appreciate Chad pointing it out.

Thanks for the ::nerdsnort::

geoduck

That’s hysterical.

BurmaYank

I certainly think that was hilarious!

But if I were challenged to explain why, exactly it is so, I’d have to admit that, about that, I’m actually quite uncertain.

Bryan:

Many thanks for that. No better way to start one’s Saturday morning than with some nerd humor.

@burmayank: Very clever indeed.

Thanks, wab95

Thanks, Lee

Bryan - I know you know I’m sure missing the editing function on this Comment page, (as you might also guess by looking at my last posting) and I’m grateful you folks are still working on it.

Gordon Weir

Actually, whoever pasted the scientists’ pictures into the cartoon failed to notice that it is a British car (i.e. steering wheel on the right). So they are showing Schrödinger as the driver of the car, despite what the story says. But that aside—hilarious!!

Bryan Chaffin

Ha! Nice catch, Gordon, though it’s not so much a British car as it is a car image flipped horizontally (original image). Either way, I wasn’t thinking about making sure that Heisenberg was in the driver’s seat and definitely wish I had. Thanks for the comment. smile
