Going out on a “limn” I would say that it is video that lights up our mobile devices.

But apparently it’s not YouTube. It’s not Porn, It’s not Flikr. Those would be way over the 1% figure. It’s not just any old video that we watch on our portable devices. It’s some subset of videos that are special in some way. I get that from the second to the last paragraph.

Geoduck yes there is video formatted/optimized for mobile devices. When exporting from say QuickTime to put the video on a web page the process creates several movie files and code. Visit the page from a Mac, and presumably over broadband, you see one version of the video. Visit from an iPhone, and presumably over 3G, you see a different version.

Ok I get it. It’s not a subset of videos (by subject or vendor for example), it’s the subset of videos that have been optimized to run on portable devices.

I am thinking, just as a joke, of creating a webpage titled Sexy Videos. Have a plugin check in the header look for Flash. If it finds it then the visitor is redirected to an error page that tells them they need to remove Flash before viewing the videos.

After thinking about it I would name the page “Sexy Free Videos” and populate with innocent (free of sex) videos maybe some of the birds that I “shot” at my backyard feeder. However a naked Bill Gates would certainly be “Sexy Free.”
