Skype 1.3.1 Improves iPad Compatibility

· by · Product News

Skype 1.3.1 hit the App store on Tuesday, adding improved support for the iPad and iPhone OS 3.2. The update for the Web voice and chat app, however, didn’t include an updated iPad-specific interface.

The update also improved stability when switching between tabs, when participating in chats in landscape mode, when managing unread chats, and when address book or camera view is visible during incoming calls. Since the update doesn’t include an iPad-specific interface, iPad owners will still see the smaller iPhone and iPad touch interface, or can use the iPad’s pixel doubling feature to fill their tablet’s screen.

Skype for the iPhone and iPod touch is free and is available at Apple’s iTunes-based App Store.
