Spotify has started rolling out standalone streaming for its Apple Watch. It means users can access their music via Bluetooth headphones like AirPods without needing their iPhone.

Standalone Streaming Available on Spotify For Apple Watch

Testing on the feature began in September. 9to5 Mac reported that some of its readers have started seeing the function, even if they were not in the testing group. The feature has arrived as a server-side update. Other third-party music apps, such as Pandora, already had this functionality available.

Although you’re allowed to play Spotify music on Apple Watch directly, you still cannot enjoy offline Spotify Music on Apple Watch. If you want to listen to Spotify music on Apple Watch offline without a phone, I do recommend TunesKit Spotify Music Converter to you. After downloading Spotify music via TunesKit program, you can sync Spotify music tracks to Appel Watch for offline listening.
