According to Mr. Cringely, some ten minutes of the interview was used in Triumph, which is an excellent look at early history of Silicon Valley and the birth of the personal computer. When announcing this project, he said that the rest of the interview was long considered lost until the passing of Steve Jobs in 2011 resulted in a new (successful) effort to find it.

The VHS tape that was found in a London garage was then cleaned up and turned into a 72 minute film that first was shown in a very limited engagement at 19 Landmark Theaters in November of 2011. Now, that film is available on iTunes as a US$3.99 rental.
According to the iTunes description, The Lost Interview is, “Candid, controversial and funny…the original and unedited interview with Steve Jobs, conducted by tech journalist and former Apple Inc. employee Robert X. Cringely, from 1995 when Steve Jobs was still CEO of NeXT Computer and Pixar.”
Mr. Cringely claimed on his site that Apple is refusing to promote it on iTunes, deeming it “too controversial.” Mr. Cringely bills it as not-at-all controversial, and the interview has been very well received by the wider world.
