The company had announced the white and black versions of the iPhone 4 at the same time, but then said a delay in the shipping date on June 23rd, with today’s announcement from Mr. Jobs marking a confirmation that the device will ship in July.
“White models of Apple’s new iPhone 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected,” the company said in a statement on June 23rd. “As a result they will not be available until the second half of July. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.”
The “second half of July” is now officially “the end of July,” for those waiting.
