The new iPhone will allegedly ship with a 960×640 resolution display that uses in-plane switching (IPS) and fringe-field switching (FFS) technologies, which should offer better viewing angles and improved visibility in sunlight. It will also include a 512MB Arm Cortex A8 processor, doubling the amount of memory available to the device compared to the iPhone 3GS.

According to the report, Apple manufacturing partner Foxconn will ship about 4.5 million next generation iPhones in the first half of 2010, and an additional 19.5 million units by the end of the year.
Ming-Chi Kuo also expects Apple will introduce the new iPhone on June 7 during the company’s annual World Wide Developer Conference.
While the introduction of the new iPhone during the WWDC event seems plausible, Digitimes doesn’t have the best track record for pre-launch information. Since Apple hasn’t confirmed any of the next generation iPhone features, information about new models should be treated as rumor for now.
