Apple’s new iPhone 17 lineup, including the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, officially launched today as pre-orders began arriving to customers.
For those who missed the pre-order window that began on September 12, many configurations on Apple’s website now show shipping delays of one to three weeks, with some estimates pushing into mid-October. However, Apple is offering a launch day alternative with in-store pickup available at most retail locations.
While Apple’s online stores for the United States and Canada have yet to fully update with pickup availability, many international stores are already live with the option. Customers in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Spain can secure any iPhone 17 model for pickup today or tomorrow. Same-day pickup is also widely available in Australia, Japan, China, and other countries across Asia, Mexico, and the UAE.

To check for local inventory, customers can add their desired iPhone to the bag on Apple’s website or through the Apple Store app. At checkout, selecting the “I’ll pick it up” option and entering a zip code will reveal nearby stores with availability. Shoppers can then choose a specific store, a pickup date, and a 15-minute check-in window to complete the online purchase. A valid government-issued photo ID and the order number may be required at the store.
Walk-in purchases may also be possible, but inventory cannot be guaranteed, and these customers may be directed to a separate queue with lower priority.
The standard iPhone 17 starts at $799 and is powered by the new A19 chip, which enables the latest Apple Intelligence features. It boasts a 120Hz ProMotion display, a dual-lens camera system with two 48-megapixel sensors, and a customizable Action button alongside a new Camera Control button.
Replacing the “Plus” model is the all-new iPhone Air, an ultra-thin device priced from $999. It features a 6.5-inch ProMotion display, a grade 5 titanium body, and the more powerful A19 Pro chip. This model is designed to be the slimmest in Apple’s lineup, measuring just 5.6mm thick, and is eSIM-only.
At the top of the lineup, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max introduce an aluminum frame for better heat management and a new rear camera housing. These flagship models are powered by the A19 Pro chip with a vapor chamber cooling system for enhanced performance. They also feature Wi-Fi 7 support, a triple 48MP camera system with an advanced 8× telephoto zoom, and brighter displays that can reach 3,000 nits. Pricing for the Pro model begins at $1,099.
