Apple Releases watchOS 26.0.1 for Apple Watch Ultra 3

watchOS 26.0.1 update

Apple has released watchOS 26.0.1, but the update is currently limited to the Apple Watch Ultra 3. The build, identified as 23R8352, introduces satellite-based support for Messages and Find My in Mexico.

Exclusive to Apple Watch Ultra 3

If you own the newly launched Apple Watch Ultra 3, you’ll see the update appear in your settings. Other watch models running watchOS 26 will not receive this version for now. Apple has a history of rolling out .0.1 updates to all supported devices shortly after major releases, so a broader release is likely to follow.

Key feature: Satellite support

The highlight of this release is the ability to send Messages and use Find My via satellite while in Mexico. This feature is particularly useful in emergencies or in areas with no mobile coverage. By extending satellite communication, Apple strengthens the Ultra 3’s positioning as a tool designed for outdoor and critical situations.

What about other Apple Watch models?

At present, the feature set remains exclusive. Users of other watchOS 26–compatible models will not see this build. Future updates could synchronize version numbers across devices, but Apple has not confirmed if satellite-enabled Messages or Find My will expand beyond the Ultra 3.

Apple’s official release notes for watchOS 26.0.1 confirm the inclusion of Messages and Find My via satellite in Mexico for Ultra 3 users.
