Apple will start streaming live Los Angeles Lakers games in Apple Immersive on Apple Vision Pro beginning Friday, January 9. The experience places viewers courtside with multiple camera angles, 3D graphics, and spatial audio designed specifically for the headset.
Apple is partnering with Spectrum to bring select Lakers games to Vision Pro in a 3D format. Fans can watch through the Spectrum SportsNet app or the NBA app, depending on their location and subscription. The live experience is limited to the Lakers’ regional broadcast area, while replays and highlights will be available more widely.

According to Apple, the Immersive format delivers a video feed of up to 150Mb/s with seven viewing angles. These include the scorer’s table, both baskets, a high-wide arena view, the player tunnel, the broadcast booth, and a roaming courtside camera. The goal is simple. Make viewers feel like they are inside the arena, not watching from a couch.
Where live games are available
Live Apple Immersive Lakers games will be available to Apple Vision Pro users in Southern California, Hawaii, and parts of southern Nevada. Viewers need Spectrum Internet or a TV package that includes Spectrum SportsNet. Users can authenticate their subscription inside the Spectrum SportsNet app on Vision Pro.
Users with a free NBA ID can also watch live games, replays, and highlights through the NBA app in supported regions.
For users outside the Lakers’ local market, Apple will offer full-game replays and highlights instead of live streams. These become available about 24 hours after each game ends. Replays only require a free NBA ID.
Apple and Spectrum confirm the plan
Apple confirmed the full schedule and rollout details in its official announcement published alongside Spectrum. The company said this marks the first live NBA broadcasts presented in Apple Immersive on Vision Pro, following an earlier preview shared in October.
The broadcast team includes play-by-play commentator Mark Rogondino and former Lakers forward Danny Green. Commentary and ambient arena sound use Spatial Audio to match what viewers see in front of them.
What makes the Immersive format different
Apple designed Spectrum Front Row specifically for Vision Pro. In-game graphics such as scores, shot clocks, and player rosters appear in 3D, floating in the viewer’s space. Cameras stay live during timeouts and breaks, showing team huddles, introductions, and in-arena activity.
Audio plays an equal role. Ambisonic microphones capture sneaker squeaks, crowd reactions, and on-court action from multiple directions. The result aims to replicate the feeling of sitting a few feet from the hardwood.
A fast and stable internet connection is required. Apple recommends high-speed service to maintain the full 150Mb/s feed without quality drops.
