Apple just scored a major win for its latest historical docuseries. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences nominated “Vietnam: The War That Changed America” for three News and Documentary Emmy Awards. The streaming platform continues to prove it can produce highly detailed historical content that resonates strongly with both viewers and critics.

The six-part documentary series received nominations across three major categories for the upcoming awards ceremony. It is officially competing for Outstanding Historical Documentary, Outstanding Direction, and Outstanding Music Composition.
Rob Coldstream directed the massive project, which was produced by the award-winning team at 72 Films. The creators sorted through over a thousand hours of archival footage to build a deeply human look at the historic conflict.
Narrated by Hollywood actor Ethan Hawke, the series focuses heavily on first-person accounts from people who actually lived through the war. Viewers get to see emotional reunions between veterans who have not spoken to each other in fifty years.
It also features stories from civilians and journalists who witnessed the events firsthand. By blending these personal memories with rare video clips, the show paints a very clear picture of how the conflict permanently changed the nation.
