Apple just pushed out fresh software updates for a bunch of the apps inside its Creator Studio suite. If you use Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, or Photomator to make music or edit photos, you will find some handy new features waiting for you today. The company also rolled out smaller tweaks for Final Cut Camera and its basic office apps like Pages and Keynote.
New sounds and mixes for Logic Pro
Logic Pro users on the Mac get a very useful feature for spatial audio. You can now export a quick preview file to hear exactly how your Dolby Atmos mix will sound once it actually hits Apple Music. This lets you test the track on an iPhone or iPad before finalizing the project.
Along with the preview tool, Apple added a new Step Reflex pack to both the Mac and iPad versions of Logic Pro. The pack focuses on the sounds of late 90s and early 2000s UK garage music. It gives producers access to heavy basslines, two-step beats, and electronic dance synths. The company also squashed a few bugs, fixing an issue that hid sound library patches on the Mac.
Fresh editing tools for Pixelmator Pro
Photo and design apps got plenty of attention as well. Both Pixelmator Pro and Photomator now support compressed RAW image files from several newer Sony and Fujifilm cameras. Pixelmator Pro also added support for high-efficiency RAW formats from some recent Nikon models.
Designers will notice a few new templates in Pixelmator Pro, including updated device mockups that feature the iPhone 17 lineup. Apple also made it easier to compare your edits by adding a feature where you can touch and hold an image to see the before and after versions. On top of that, the app now exports SVG files that play nicer with Adobe Illustrator.
Finally, the update brings a long list of keyboard shortcuts to Pixelmator Pro. You can change layer opacity quickly using the number keys, or hit the spacebar to play and pause video layers.
Other apps like Final Cut Camera mostly received performance fixes and a brand new icon to match the rest of the Creator Studio family. The entire suite remains available as a bundle for a monthly or yearly fee.
