Spotify Introduces Guided Workout Classes For Free And Premium Users

Spotify guided workouts peloton feat

Spotify is officially entering the fitness space with a new dedicated hub offering guided audio and video workouts. As detailed in its official announcement, the streaming platform now provides curated fitness classes to both its free and premium subscribers. The company built this feature to capitalize on existing user habits, knowing that millions already listen to music while exercising.

Now, it wants to keep those listeners engaged with structured fitness routines directly within its application. This move positions the platform to compete with existing subscription services from Apple and Google.

The platform adds creator content and partners with Peloton

Free and Premium members can now explore workout playlists and videos from wellness creators like Yoga With Kassandra, Chloe Ting, and Sweaty Studio. The content covers various exercise styles to accommodate different preferences and mobility levels.

Additionally, the company secured a partnership with Peloton specifically for its Premium subscribers in supported markets, including the United States. This collaboration adds over 1,400 ad-free, on-demand classes to the service. The catalog spans strength training, cardio, yoga, and meditation.

None of these Peloton classes requires specialized equipment. This means users do not need a stationary bike or treadmill to participate. It allows listeners to work out wherever they are, whether at a local gym or in a living room.

To find these guided sessions, you just need to open the application on a mobile device, desktop, or television and search for the word fitness. This action opens the new dedicated hub. An onboarding questionnaire will ask about your preferred movement types, intensity levels, and experience.

Based on those answers, the platform generates a personalized exercise lineup to help you get started. The player interface allows you to switch between video and audio formats during a session. You can watch a yoga instructor on your television and then transition to pure audio on your phone for a neighborhood run.

Classes are available primarily in English, with some options in Spanish and German. You can also download sessions for offline access, ensuring you stay active even without an internet connection.
