Lucky begins questioning her choices

Episode 5 begins after the deadly car crash that killed Cary. Lucky escapes by pretending that an injured older woman is her grandmother, allowing her to travel to the hospital without raising immediate suspicion.
At the hospital, Lucky meets Dana, Agent Billie Rand’s daughter, crying in a bathroom. Neither woman knows the other’s identity, and Lucky comforts her without expecting anything in return. The scene shows that Lucky’s growing guilt has started changing how she treats the people around her.
A childhood flashback explains where her confused moral code began. Young Lucky asks her father, John, whether they are bad people, but he avoids giving her a clear answer and teaches her to view right and wrong as flexible ideas.
Later, Lucky reaches a hotel and speaks with a man at the bar. She admits that she originally planned to manipulate him into paying for her drink and room. However, she stops the con and openly questions the kind of person she has become.
Lucky discovers Cary’s hidden fortune
Lucky attends Cary’s funeral and tells Priscilla that she does not have the stolen money. Cary converted the fortune into digital currency, but Lucky cannot access it without the correct seed phrase.
The answer comes from Cary’s stuffed bear. When Lucky hits the toy in frustration, a recording of Cary’s voice plays the missing seed phrase. The discovery gives Lucky access to nearly $10 million and returns some control to her.
Meanwhile, Priscilla confronts Wayne, who is revealed as Cary’s biological father. She blames him for abandoning Cary, but Wayne shows little concern and remains focused on recovering the money.
Why do Lucky and John surrender?
Rand learns about Lucky’s connection to her father through Dana and arranges John’s unexpected release from prison. She plans to follow him and use him to locate Lucky.
Lucky and John immediately recognise the trap. However, they decide to meet anyway and willingly surrender when Rand’s team surrounds them.
Lucky ends the episode by telling Rand, “Took you long enough,” suggesting that the arrest forms part of a larger plan. With two episodes left, Lucky now has the money, access to her father and a possible way to bring down Priscilla and Wayne.
