What happens next in Ted Lasso Season 4 Episode 2?

Spoilers for Season 4 Episode 1 follow.

The premiere ends with Ted agreeing to return to London and coach AFC Richmond’s new second-division women’s team. Michelle and Henry will also move with him, removing the family separation that shaped Ted’s decision to leave Richmond at the end of Season 3.

Episode 2 will likely cover Ted’s first proper day back at the club. Rebecca, Keeley and Higgins have already completed their mission by convincing him to return, so the story can now shift toward the Lady Greyhounds, their players and the difficult work required to make the new team successful.

Ted will also meet assistant coach Alice Chilton, played by Tanya Reynolds. The new squad includes several fresh characters played by Abbie Hern, Jude Mack and Faye Marsay, giving the series a new group of personalities and conflicts to explore.

The episode title suggests that Ted will enter a Richmond setup that feels familiar but operates very differently. He knows the club, the stadium and many members of its staff, although he has never coached a professional women’s team. That change should create questions about his methods, his authority and how quickly the players will trust him.

Roy Kent’s position also needs clarification. Season 3 ended with Roy managing Richmond’s men’s team, while Beard and Nate remained part of the coaching structure. Episode 2 should reveal how those coaches fit into Ted’s return and whether the women’s and men’s teams will regularly share facilities, staff and storylines.

How Season 3 prepared Richmond’s new story

Season 3 ended with Keeley proposing the creation of an AFC Richmond women’s team, an idea Rebecca immediately supported. Ted returned to Kansas to remain close to Henry, Roy became Richmond’s manager, and Rebecca kept control of the club while selling part of it to supporters.

Season 4 now develops that proposal into its central story. The Lady Greyhounds will face limited resources, public pressure and the challenge of earning respect in the second division. Ted must also prove that his coaching philosophy can work with a completely new squad.

Ted Lasso Season 4 Episode 2 should give viewers their first real look at the new Richmond team and the challenges waiting inside its locker room. What do you think Ted will change first at the club? Let us know in the comments.
