The episode begins after Catherine shoots Marshall while protecting Alice. Marshall survives, Alice wakes in the hospital following her overdose, and Catherine escapes before authorities can catch her. Meanwhile, Ed takes greater control of the investigation and starts searching for the copied evidence connected to Jay Easton.

Danny also faces a difficult choice after discovering something deeply personal on the USB drive. One of the videos shows Alice when she was a teenager, although Jay is not the man appearing with her. Alice later reveals more about her troubled childhood, while Danny decides against immediately handing over the drive because doing so would expose what happened to her.

Season 1 has followed Alice as she hunts Catherine, a serial killer targeting powerful men connected to abuse and exploitation. Over time, their separate searches for justice have increasingly crossed, especially as Jay Easton and the disappearance of Isabel Luna became central to both women.

Alice lets Catherine escape

Alice eventually finds Elena at a Bronx motel with Nora’s help. She tells Elena that Isabel was actually her mother, then convinces her to call Catherine. The phone unexpectedly rings nearby, revealing that Catherine has been hiding inside the motel.

Instead of arresting her, Alice allows Catherine to leave and directs her toward Jay Easton’s Connecticut home. Her plan is to follow Catherine, arrest her on Easton’s property and use the situation to establish grounds for searching the mansion.

The gamble becomes even more dangerous because Jay’s daughter Emma has been helping conceal his activities. Episode 7 shows her destroying evidence while Jay reveals that he kept additional recordings inside a safe.

A DNA result then delivers another major development. Material recovered from under Isabel Luna’s fingernails matches a sibling of Caleb Easton, pointing directly toward Emma and suggesting she played a much larger role in Isabel’s death than previously known.

The episode closes with Catherine approaching the Easton mansion while Alice heads after her, leaving Jay, Emma, Catherine and investigators on a collision course for the Season 1 finale.

Furious returns with Episode 8, “Hart Island,” on August 31. With Catherine heading directly toward Jay and new evidence implicating Emma, the finale now has several major conflicts to resolve. What do you think Catherine will do once she reaches the Easton house? Let us know in the comments.
