The relationship heading for trouble in Ted Lasso Season 4 Episode 8 is Roy and Keeley’s. Episode 7 leaves Roy newly single because Erin sees that he still loves Keeley, but it does not give either of them a plan for what comes next. That gap makes a reunion possible and a repeat of their old mistakes just as likely.
Episode 7, “Yes & Baby,” also gives Ted his own romantic setback and brings Zelda closer to Richmond’s inner circle. With no public Episode 8 plot synopsis detailing a specific couple, the clearest preview angle comes from the relationships that have already changed on screen rather than an invented reveal.

Roy has removed the excuse, not solved the problem
Erin ends her relationship with Roy after hearing him circle back to Keeley and recognising what he has not said directly. It is a clean decision from her, but it does not automatically make Roy ready for Keeley. He has spent much of the season trying to outrun the feelings instead of explaining what he wants.
That distinction is why Episode 8 could be difficult. A reunion would only work if Roy arrives with more than guilt and longing. Keeley has a career, a friendship with Ted and her own history of being asked to carry other people’s uncertainty. Roy needs to show change, not simply availability.
Keeley still has reason to protect herself
Keeley’s advice that Roy should date other people has produced a result neither of them can easily ignore. Erin’s exit confirms the obvious, but it also puts pressure on Keeley to respond. She cannot control Roy’s decision, and the episode has not shown that she is waiting for him.
That makes their relationship the one most likely to turn uncomfortable before it turns hopeful. If Roy assumes that becoming single earns him a second chance, he could repeat the same self-centred pattern that pushed them apart. If he listens, Episode 8 can finally make the pair confront the conversation they have deferred.
Ted’s setback changes the emotional weather at Richmond
Ted also finishes Episode 7 without the connection he hoped for. After realising “I am lovable,” he deletes Bantr and asks the stage manager out directly, only to learn she has started seeing somebody else. The rejection is gentle, but it leaves Ted at a point where he must decide whether to stay open.
Meanwhile, Zelda’s new Special Adviser role changes Rebecca’s working relationship with her. That is not a romance story, but it is another partnership entering a more delicate phase. Episode 8 has several relationships under pressure; Roy and Keeley simply have the most immediate reason to stop avoiding the issue.
