Apple’s second-generation HomePod mini may arrive in green, pink, blue, white and black while keeping the original speaker’s compact spherical shape. Newly reported images appear to be Apple assets labeled for “HomePod mini 2,” but Apple has not announced the product.
MacRumors says contributor Aaron Perris located the images in Apple’s code. The reported files show all five finishes together and provide the clearest indication yet that Apple plans to replace yellow and orange with green and pink. The blue finish also looks lighter than today’s version.
The design looks familiar
The leaked icons do not show a major exterior redesign. Each speaker retains the fabric-covered body, flat illuminated top and overall proportions associated with the current model. That makes the color changes more visible, but the images cannot reveal internal audio hardware or processor performance.

Apple currently offers HomePod mini in blue, yellow, orange, white and midnight. The company introduced a midnight HomePod mini in 2024, replacing space gray without changing the speaker’s core hardware.
The existing HomePod mini still uses an S5 chip. Rumors have pointed to a newer processor and networking hardware in the replacement, while recent code suggests Siri AI could reach HomePod. Apple has not said whether those capabilities need the new model or will extend to existing speakers.
The images also do not establish a release date or price. Apple now lists the current HomePod mini at $129 in the United States, but there is no evidence in the leaked color files that the next model will keep that price.
Until Apple confirms the product, the safest conclusion is that a visually familiar HomePod mini refresh is in development with a revised five-color palette. Its chip, audio improvements, Siri support and availability remain open questions. The final retail names for the colors could also differ.
