Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars has returned to Apple TV for its second season, following 16 restaurants through the pressure of pursuing, keeping or reclaiming Michelin recognition. The season begins with two episodes and runs for eight episodes in total.

Apple’s official season-two announcement confirms the September 25 premiere. Food and travel presenter Jesse Burgess returns as host, while Gordon Ramsay and Studio Ramsay Global remain among the executive producers.

Sixteen restaurants face different stakes

The season moves between Great Britain and Ireland, Germany and California. Its subjects include chefs trying to place a small island on Michelin’s map, a family pursuing another star, and restaurant teams attempting to regain recognition after opening a new location.

Featured businesses include Vraic in Guernsey, tulus lotrek in Berlin, Restaurant Naides in San Francisco and Troubadour Bread & Bistro in Healdsburg. Troubadour operates as a bakery and sandwich shop by day before changing into a tasting-menu restaurant at night.

MacObserver covered the second-season renewal in May, when Apple confirmed the eight-episode order but had not announced a release date. The premiere now places the series within the broader Apple TV September schedule.

The first season earned a BAFTA Television Award nomination in factual entertainment. Season two keeps the documentary format focused on the chefs, owners and staff living through the Michelin Guide’s year-long decision process rather than turning the competition into a studio contest.

Viewers can watch the opening episodes through the Apple TV app or website wherever the service is available. Apple’s announcement does not describe a free viewing window, so normal subscription access applies.

Apple has not published the complete weekly episode schedule in its press release. Subscribers who want to follow each restaurant’s story should check the series page in the Apple TV app for the next episode date after watching the two-part premiere.
