Adobe is rolling out new interactive editing tools for its plugin inside ChatGPT. Announced during OpenAI’s DevDay 2026, this update gives users the ability to tweak images, designs, and PDF documents directly within the chat window. Instead of just relying on text prompts, you can now use hands-on controls to refine your visual projects without ever leaving the conversation interface.
Users can tweak photos and designs with new sliders
Powered by Photoshop and Adobe Express, the image and design tools let you select specific objects or brush over areas right inside the chatbot. You can ask ChatGPT to make a change, like removing a stray napkin from a coffee table photo.
After the bot does the heavy lifting, you can fine-tune the results using a new side panel. This interactive editor brings up specific sliders for things like hue, saturation, and contrast based on what you are trying to do.

Everything stays connected to your artificial intelligence chat history. This setup lets you bounce between typing instructions and making manual adjustments without having to upload the file twice or explain your goal again.
Document tools let you highlight and revise text directly
The plugin also handles document workflows using Acrobat tools. You can open a file in the side panel to revise text and highlight passages while you read.
The content you select helps guide the AI in understanding your needs. For instance, if you highlight a paragraph about payment terms in a contract, you can ask the chatbot to find and mark other sections related to invoicing.
The tool then highlights those related passages in the document for you to review for consistency.
The updated plugin is currently rolling out globally across the web and mobile apps. By bringing standard creative tools into a conversational format, Adobe is making it easier to go straight from an initial idea to a finished, ready-to-share project.
