Dark Matter Season 2 Episode 7 is scheduled for Friday, October 9, 2026, on Apple TV. It is titled “The Pyramid.” Charlie Dessen’s decision to enter the Box alone at the end of Episode 6 creates the immediate question for the next chapter: which world will he open, and will anyone there help him get back?

The published Episode 7 description offers one firm clue: Charlie meets a kind stranger. It does not identify that person, say where Charlie lands or confirm that the encounter is safe. The distinction is important in a series where a familiar-looking place can still be a radically different reality.

Charlie’s choice moves the Box story away from Jason

Until now, the Box has largely been a problem the adults tried to solve for the family. Charlie crossing the threshold by himself changes that balance. His parents cannot choose his next door, follow the same emotional path automatically or know whether he has met a version of someone they recognize. The episode can therefore make him an active traveler rather than a passenger in Jason’s decisions.

That is why the promise of a kind stranger matters. A new person could give Charlie directions, shelter or information, but none of those outcomes is confirmed. The stranger could also be kind while having no idea what the Box is. Charlie’s most urgent challenge may be deciding how much of his story to reveal in a world he has not learned to read.

The preview points to other dangers as well

The episode description also says Blair warns Leighton, while Amanda and Ryan encounter an unknown horror. Those are separate threads, not evidence that Charlie is headed toward either pair. Leighton’s newly revealed project in Episode 6 makes Blair’s warning especially significant, but the preview does not disclose its subject. A warning is not proof that the project fails, nor that it caused the danger Amanda and Ryan face.

Apple’s announced 10-episode run continues with weekly Friday releases through October 30. Episode 7 is therefore a turning point rather than the finale. Its 63-minute listing gives the story room to follow several travelers, although runtime alone cannot tell us which plot will dominate.

Where could Charlie be going?

The honest answer is that his destination has not been revealed. The title “The Pyramid” could describe a place or something Charlie finds there, but treating it as a map would be speculation. The most concrete expectation is an encounter with the kind stranger named in the listing. What that person knows, and whether Charlie can get home, remain the episode’s questions to answer.

For the Dessen family, the real consequence is that protecting Charlie now requires finding him across possibilities they cannot count. Where do you think his first solo door will lead? Share your theory in the comments, and keep it labeled as a theory until Episode 7 arrives.
