Aishwarya Lekshmi plays Tara and Arjun Das plays Matthew in Netflix’s Tamil romantic series #Love. They are not strangers who meet through one of the apps at the center of the story. They are rivals in the dating-app business, with sharply different ideas about what makes a match work.
That professional conflict gives the cast its central pairing. Tara’s business is built on compatibility, while Matthew champions chemistry. A 60-day challenge puts the two competing ideas, and the people behind them, under pressure. Here is the confirmed character guide without turning the show’s relationship questions into spoilers.
- Series: #Love
- Genre: Tamil romance
- Season 1: Six episodes
- Streaming on: Netflix
- Lead cast: Aishwarya Lekshmi and Arjun Das
Aishwarya Lekshmi plays Tara
Tara runs FOUND, a dating app based on the idea that compatibility can be identified and tested. Netflix describes her as a single founder who helps other people look for a partner while her own love life remains unsettled. That contradiction makes her more than a spokesperson for an algorithm: the story asks whether she is prepared to apply her own theory when the stakes become personal.

Lekshmi brings the necessary authority to a character whose work depends on certainty. Netflix’s launch materials quote the actor describing Tara as someone close to women she knows in real life, rather than as a simple romantic-comedy type. Her performance has to leave room for ambition and doubt at the same time. The result is a founder with a belief to defend, not merely one half of a predetermined couple.
Arjun Das plays Matthew
Matthew is associated with Find My Bae, the competing app that puts chemistry first. His premise challenges Tara’s assumption that a good match can be measured before two people truly connect. Netflix’s official introduction identifies him as her rival and the other participant in the 60-day challenge, not as a user randomly selected by either service.
Das gives Matthew a strong opposing point of view. The disagreement is useful because neither app is just a plot device: each represents a different answer to how people decide whom to trust. As the challenge continues, Matthew must show whether his confidence in chemistry survives contact with a person who has good reasons to resist his argument.
Why the pairing drives the show
Netflix announced #Love as part of its Tamil and Telugu slate and later introduced the series as a contest between chemistry and compatibility. Balaji Mohan directs, while Soundarya Rajinikanth is the showrunner and producer. Those are production credits, not clues that Tara and Matthew must arrive at any particular ending.
The safest way to follow the cast is to keep the premise separate from the outcome. Tara is the founder who trusts a structured match; Matthew is the rival who trusts an immediate connection. What matters is how their positions change when they have to live through the experiment themselves. Which of the two approaches do you find more convincing? Tell us in the comments.
