US President Donald Trump has officially announced the creation of a Super Intelligence Force to manage the country’s approach to advanced technology. The group aims to coordinate how the government handles new artificial intelligence developments. With Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton stepping in as the main leader, the White House wants to keep the nation ahead in the global tech race.

The panel explores advanced tech risks and future opportunities

The newly formed group has 120 days to deliver a full report on the risks and benefits of these systems. Clayton noted that falling behind other countries is a major risk, so the panel will work fast. They plan to review systems for reporting hacks, breaches, and other safety concerns while finding ways to strengthen government responses.

The force brings together several high-ranking officials to oversee these efforts. Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering Emil Michael, and Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor will act as vice chairs. Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will also serve as members, alongside outside advisors like former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. The panel will actively work with religious groups, consumers, and companies building the technology.

The administration swaps old terms for a new global strategy

During a recent UN General Assembly speech, Trump argued that the standard industry terminology sounds fake. He described the technology as amazing and stated it is bigger than the internet and the Industrial Revolution. Because of this, the State Department has already told its staff to start using the term “super intelligence” or “SI” in official documents instead of AI.

This name change and the new task force arrive as researchers warn about the fatal risks of advanced computer systems. While many lawmakers want strict rules, Trump prefers limited regulations. He believes heavy oversight will hurt business growth and make it harder to compete with countries like China. The new force now faces the tough job of balancing that rapid growth with basic public safety.
