Mr. Canis is Relda Grimm’s housekeeper, driver and trusted protector, voiced by JB Blanc. His connection to the family is chosen rather than biological: Relda gives him a home, and he helps guard the Grimm household while Sabrina and Daphne investigate Ferryport Landing’s fairy-tale crimes.

The complication is that Canis carries the identity and power of the Big Bad Wolf. That makes him one of the family’s strongest allies and one of its most dangerous potential threats. His story asks whether a person should be judged only by the monster inside him or by the restraint and loyalty he shows every day.

Canis is part housekeeper and part bodyguard

When Sabrina and Daphne arrive in Ferryport Landing, Canis is already part of Relda’s unusual home. He handles practical duties, drives the family and backs Relda during dangerous cases. His quiet manner contrasts with a town full of theatrical Everafters, which can make him seem suspicious before his loyalty becomes clear.

That loyalty matters because the Grimms attract enemies. As descendants of the Brothers Grimm, they investigate a community whose residents have complicated feelings about their family’s records and authority. Canis gives the girls protection while they learn which old stories cannot be trusted at face value.

The Big Bad Wolf makes his protection frightening

Canis is connected to one of folklore’s most famous villains. The Wolf’s strength can help him defend the family, but anger and violence risk weakening his control. Sabrina is therefore right to care about him while remaining alert to what could happen if the monster takes over.

This dual nature fits the show’s larger idea that fairy-tale labels are incomplete. A prince can be selfish, a trickster can become a friend and a supposed monster can choose to protect children. Canis is the clearest example because his appearance and behavior resist the simple moral assigned to his story.

Relda’s trust makes him family

Relda does not treat Canis as a weapon she owns. She trusts him with her home and grandchildren, and that acceptance gives him a reason to keep fighting the Wolf’s influence. Sabrina and Daphne gradually inherit that relationship, though neither should ignore the danger.

The arrangement also expands what family means in the series. Sabrina and Daphne arrive looking for biological relatives, but Ferryport Landing surrounds them with people who become dependable through repeated choices. Canis earns his place by staying, protecting and accepting responsibility for the harm the Wolf could cause. That bond is stronger than a tidy fairy-tale label.
