Apple has released iOS 27.2 public beta 3 for iPhone users enrolled in its free testing program. The update brings public testers onto build 24B5099f, which Apple first supplied to developers on October 5.
Apple identifies the build in its developer release feed, while the company’s beta 3 release notes document the issues and developer changes that remain in this seed. The public rollout follows the developer beta released a day earlier.
This build does not come with a separate list of new consumer features. Apple’s notes still flag a problem that can prevent personalized summaries from appearing in the Health app’s Insights tab. Describe a Shortcut may also fail with an error, and people awaiting Quest lab results are advised to wait before changing iOS versions.

How to get the public beta
Registered testers can open Settings, choose General, then Software Update and Beta Updates. Select iOS 27 Public Beta if it is not already enabled, return to Software Update, and install the available build. Apple says enrolled devices receive later beta versions through Software Update.
Back up the iPhone before installing prerelease software. Apple warns in its Beta Software Program FAQ that beta backups may not work with earlier shipping versions. Readers who prefer a more settled build can remain on the public release while Apple continues testing iOS 27.2. For context, our beta 2 coverage explains where the previous seed stood. Feedback Assistant remains the official route for reporting any new problems that appear after the update.
