iOS 27.2 beta 3 contains code suggesting that controls for nearby smart home accessories could appear in Dynamic Island. The feature is not currently active, so the finding shows development work rather than a capability beta testers can use today.
The discovery was documented in the Beta Profiles community changelog after developer Aaron Perris inspected the build. Apple lists beta 3 as build 24B5099f in its developer release catalog.
Nearby controls could let an iPhone surface a relevant action when a user approaches a lock, light or other accessory. The code does not establish which accessory types qualify, whether manufacturers need new APIs or if Apple will ship the behavior in iOS 27.2.

A hint, not a finished Home feature
Dynamic Island already presents live system activities and time-sensitive controls. A proximity-aware Home action would fit that role, but hidden strings and frameworks can remain unused, change names or disappear before a public release.
Apple is also expanding its broader home platform, including the reported HomePad-style hub. That context makes faster accessory access plausible without confirming this particular implementation.
Beta users should not install the update solely for this feature because there is no exposed switch or documented setup. The practical story for now is that Apple is exploring a more immediate way to surface nearby Home controls.
If Apple activates the feature in a later beta, testers will still need to verify its device, accessory and regional requirements before describing it as generally available.
