Apple could introduce its long-rumored smart home display as early as October, according to a new report. The device is often called “HomePad,” although Apple has not announced the product or confirmed that name.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that the Siri AI hub is being tested in employees’ homes and could be introduced as soon as next month. That is an earliest possible window, not a firm launch date, and earlier reporting left room for the product to arrive in early 2027.
The reported hardware has a roughly square display and could come in two forms. One would sit on a tabletop stand, while another would attach to a wall. The screen is expected to show a home screen, widgets, and clock faces, with an interface drawing from iOS, tvOS, and watchOS.

Siri AI would sit at the center
The hub would reportedly combine connected-device controls, video calls, Intercom, media, and access to Apple apps and services. It would pair with an iPhone for setup and other tasks. Siri AI is described as the main attraction, with requests that can search across a person’s devices and accounts or act inside Notes, Reminders, and Calendar.
That could let someone ask the hub to find a photo, podcast, or song previously shared with them, rather than remembering where it was saved. Earlier reports also described a front camera able to recognize the person nearby and present personalized information. Neither capability has been demonstrated publicly.
The timing fits a broader Home push. Apple’s reported retail changes point to new Home products, while our HomePad rumor roundup traces the project’s changing schedule. References to homeOS have also survived earlier delays tied to Siri.
Apple has not published a price, specifications, release date, or final product name. An October introduction is therefore possible rather than promised, and the reported features could still change before any announcement.
