iOS 27.2 Beta 3 Quietly Redesigns the Battery Icon Across iPhone Settings

Apple has updated the battery icon shown in iPhone Settings and several other system views in iOS 27.2 beta 3. The revised symbol more closely matches the battery design already used in the status bar, making the visual language more consistent.

The change is documented in the Beta Profiles beta 3 roundup. Apple released developer beta 3 as build 24B5099f on October 5, according to the company’s release listing.

This is a graphical adjustment rather than a new battery-management feature. It does not change charging behavior, battery-health calculations or the information available in Settings.

A small consistency change

Apple introduced a revised status-bar battery indicator with iOS 27, while some parts of the system continued to use an older glyph. Beta 3 brings those remaining appearances closer together.

The update is visible in Settings and other locations that display battery status, though exact placement can vary by device and connected accessories. Users should not expect an additional percentage option or a new low-power control from the icon alone.

Because iOS 27.2 remains in testing, Apple can refine the shape again before the stable release. Beta software may also contain unrelated bugs, so a minor icon change is not a reason to install it on a primary iPhone.

The redesigned glyph is most noticeable when compared side by side with earlier builds. It is a visual polish item, not evidence of improved battery life.
