The third season of the hit supernatural horror series Mayfair Witches has officially received a premiere date and a new subtitle. During a panel at New York Comic Con, AMC revealed that the upcoming season will be titled Mayfair Witches: Salem Coven. Fans will not have to wait until next year to watch the new episodes, as the network has moved up the release timeline to the end of this year.
The third season moves the story to Salem
According to the latest announcements, Mayfair Witches: Salem Coven is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, December 30, 2026. This marks a shift from AMC’s previous summer announcement, which originally projected a 2027 release window. The show will be available to watch on both the AMC cable network and the AMC+ streaming platform in the United States.
The new subtitle highlights a major change in setting for the series. Moving away from the New Orleans backdrop of the first two seasons, the third season will take the story to Salem, Massachusetts. The narrative will dive deeper into the historical witchcraft mythology and the infamous witch trials associated with the town. The show will also introduce new “spellbound” families as part of the expanding universe.

Alexandra Daddario returns to star as Rowan Fielding, whose growing powers continue to place her at the center of her family’s dark and complicated legacy. She will be joined by returning cast members Harry Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa, and Alyssa Jirrels.
The new season is also bringing in several fresh faces to the cast. Additions include Michiel Huisman, known for The Haunting of Hill House, and Betsy Brandt from Breaking Bad. They are joined by James Frain from True Blood and Eliza Scanlen from Sharp Objects. Behind the scenes, Thomas Schnauz has stepped in as a co-showrunner, working alongside series co-creator Esta Spalding to steer this new chapter of the Anne Rice adaptation.
Pulling the premiere forward into late December gives fans a welcome treat just before the new year kicks off. With a fresh location, prominent new cast additions, and deep roots in Salem’s dark history, this next chapter is set up to deliver the franchise’s most ambitious story yet.
