Netflix’s new Korean period drama 100 Days of Deception brings together Kim You-jung, Park Jin-young, Kim Hyun-joo, Lee Mu-saeng, and Jin Sun-kyu for a spy story set in 1930s Gyeongseong. The large cast spans independence fighters, Japanese colonial officials, journalists, interpreters, and people connected to the central undercover mission.
The series follows skilled pickpocket Lee Ga-gyeong after she agrees to infiltrate the Government-General of Korea for the independence organization Gugukdan. Her assignment places her close to Kim Tae-woong, also known as Sato Hideo, whose family connection to one of Gugukdan’s main targets makes their relationship especially dangerous.
Who plays Lee Ga-gyeong in 100 Days of Deception?
Kim You-jung plays Lee Ga-gyeong, Gyeongseong’s most talented pickpocket and the central character of 100 Days of Deception.

Ga-gyeong initially dreams of leaving Korea and starting another life, but she accepts an offer from Gugukdan and enters the Government-General as an interpreter trainee. Her assignment is supposed to last 100 days, giving the series its central countdown.
Kim You-jung previously appeared in My Demon, 20th Century Girl, Backstreet Rookie, and Chicken Nugget.
Who plays Kim Tae-woong, also known as Sato Hideo?
Park Jin-young plays Kim Tae-woong, who also uses the Japanese name Sato Hideo.
Tae-woong is a Korean-born interpreter who spent more than a decade abroad before returning to Gyeongseong. He speaks Korean, Japanese, and English and works inside the Government-General, where Ga-gyeong carries out her undercover operation.
The most important detail about Tae-woong is his family. He is the adopted son of Sato Shinichi, the senior colonial official whom Gugukdan wants to eliminate. That connection places Tae-woong directly between Ga-gyeong’s mission and her growing feelings for him.
Who plays Yoo So-ran?

Kim Hyun-joo plays Yoo So-ran, an experienced sniper working with Gugukdan.
So-ran has a personal history with Sato Shinichi and returns to Korea under another identity after more than ten years away. She recruits Ga-gyeong for the undercover operation while preparing her own revenge against Shinichi.
Kim Hyun-joo will be familiar to Netflix viewers from Hellbound, The Bequeathed, Trolley, and Jung_E.
Who plays Yoo Philip?

Lee Mu-saeng plays Yoo Philip, a Korean-American journalist working as a correspondent for an American news organization.
Philip is also connected to Gugukdan. His status as a foreign correspondent gives him access and political influence that the resistance can use, while his marriage to So-ran is an arrangement created partly to protect their activities.
Who plays Sato Shinichi?

Jin Sun-kyu plays Sato Shinichi, the newly appointed Director-General of Political Affairs at the Japanese Government-General.
Shinichi is Tae-woong’s adoptive father and one of the most powerful figures in the story. His ambition and position make him Gugukdan’s primary assassination target, linking nearly every major character to the same conflict.
Who else is in the 100 Days of Deception cast?
Several supporting characters belong either to Gugukdan or the colonial administration.
| Actor | Character | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Seo Jeong-yeon | Ryu Gwan-sil / Yanagi | Sato household’s Korean housekeeper |
| Choi Duk-moon | Kwak Woon-hak | Gugukdan member |
| Kim In-kwon | Han Cheol-ryong | Gugukdan member |
| Park Jung-yeon | Kim Myung-nam | Gugukdan member |
| Lee Sun | Lee Young-bok | Gugukdan member |
| Kim Do-hyun | Suzuki | Government-General interpreter |
| Kim Joong-hee | Fukuda | Security Bureau chief |
| Yuka Kouri | Yamada | Sato Shinichi’s secretary |
| Hong Sa-bin | Lee No-ma | Ga-gyeong’s pickpocketing partner |
The wider ensemble also includes Lee Ki-young as businessman Kim Seung-eok and several additional Gugukdan members who become involved as the undercover mission expands.
The key relationship to remember is the triangle connecting Ga-gyeong, Tae-woong, and Shinichi. Ga-gyeong is spying on the organization Shinichi helps control, while Tae-woong works inside it and considers Shinichi his father. That setup gives the romance an immediate conflict that should become more complicated as both leads learn what the other is hiding.
