October carries five confirmed Apple dates that have nothing to do with a phone announcement. Five new Apple Arcade games arrive October 1. A new Apple TV series premieres October 7. A second series makes its global debut October 30, the same day iPhone Duo reaches 28 more countries and regions.
Each of the three items below is dated on its own Apple newsroom or Apple TV press release, separate from the two iPhone Duo dates already well covered elsewhere: pre-orders October 16, shipping October 23.
Key facts

Apple Arcade’s October 1 additions, in full
Apple confirmed all five games in a newsroom release published September 8, the day before the keynote that introduced iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo, which means the lineup below was locked in before either device had a public name attached to a launch date. Apple Arcade itself costs $6.99 a month in the US, with a one-month free trial, and is also bundled into every tier of Apple One, from $21.95 a month for an individual plan through $27.95 for a family plan to $39.95 for Premier. The prior month’s Arcade additions, Block Blast and Art of Fauna: Cozy Puzzles, had already arrived September 3, so October 1 is simply the next scheduled step in a monthly cadence Apple has kept up all year.

“Small Prophets” premieres October 7
Apple TV Press dated the premiere of “Small Prophets” season one to Wednesday, October 7, in its own release. The comedy comes from BAFTA Award winning creator Mackenzie Crook. Apple’s release does not attach a companion date for a second season, and none is implied.
October 30: a phone expansion and a TV premiere share a date
“Nocturne,” Apple TV’s crime drama starring Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham, makes its global debut Friday, October 30, with ten episodes total. The first two arrive at launch, and the rest follow weekly every Friday through December 25. That is the identical date on which iPhone Duo becomes available in 28 more countries and regions, on top of the more than 70 it launches in on October 23. Apple has not named which 28 countries join on October 30.
Where this sits against iPhone Duo’s own two dates
iPhone Duo pre-orders open October 16 at 5 a.m. PT, and shipping begins October 23, both already dated on Apple’s own product page. Layered against those two dates, October now carries three more confirmed events that have nothing to do with the device itself, which is easy to miss if a calendar only tracks the phone. A reader following only iPhone Duo news would see two dates in October. A reader following Apple’s full newsroom and Apple TV press output sees five, and three of them would arrive on schedule whether or not iPhone Duo existed at all.
What Apple has not said
- No named list of the 28 countries and regions joining iPhone Duo on October 30.
- No premiere date yet for “Slow Horses” season six, beyond a first-look release published in June.
- No November Apple Arcade lineup published as of this writing.
- No stated connection between the Apple TV premiere schedule and the iPhone Duo launch window; the shared date on October 30 is not something Apple has called a coordinated release.
The next date on this list is Thursday, October 1, when Apple Arcade’s five new games go live. After that, “Small Prophets” arrives October 7, well ahead of iOS 27‘s own follow-on updates and iPhone Duo’s pre-order window opening October 16.
