The new iPhone Duo quickly sold out after pre-orders opened last Friday. Delivery dates for the highly anticipated phone slipped all the way into late January 2027. This left a lot of buyers getting ready for a three-month wait since early stock vanished so fast. But over the weekend, multiple customers noticed a sudden shift in their order status. It seems Apple is bumping up delivery times, giving some lucky shoppers a much earlier arrival date.

Early buyers see delivery dates jump to the October launch

A big wave of reports is coming from buyers in Japan. Some people who originally had a December delivery date are now seeing their orders set to arrive on October 23. That happens to be the official launch day. One T-Mobile customer also shared an estimated ship date of October 22, pointing to a launch day delivery as well.

Demand was so high right out of the gate that some industry watchers pointed out how the company messed up the early pre-order setup. Walking into a store on launch day to buy one is basically out of the question now. In fact, retail workers are telling people to avoid showing up on Friday without a reservation.

Because of this tight supply, the sudden delivery updates are creating both excitement and confusion. The brand has a history of under-promising and over-delivering on shipping times. It often beats its own estimates. Still, the huge jump from late December to late October has some people skeptical.

One social media user claimed to have contacted customer support about the sudden change. The user said a representative called the updated timeline a system error. We still do not know if this information came from corporate or a retail store employee. For now, buyers should just keep an eye on their iPhone order status

If the new dates are a glitch, the system will likely fix itself soon. If the dates are real, a lot of people are about to get their hands on the new phone months ahead of schedule.
