Jason Sudeikis wants to keep lacing up his coaching cleats. The star and co-creator of the hit Apple series “Ted Lasso” recently shared his hopes for the show’s future following the wrap-up of its fourth season. While nothing is locked in right now, Sudeikis sounds more than ready to keep the beloved soccer comedy going if Apple TV gives the green light.
The creator hints at more stories left to tell on screen
During a recent appearance on the “Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso” podcast, Sudeikis opened up about his mindset for bringing the show back. He explained that returning for the fourth season was driven by a feeling that there were still good stories to explore.
“I would like to do more, yeah, I think it would be fun,” Sudeikis said on the podcast. He did point out that a new writers’ room has not opened yet. Still, when asked if the streaming platform would want to keep the ball rolling as long as he is on board, he casually added that he assumes they would.

Production hurdles complicate the path to a quick season renewal
While fans and the star himself want more episodes, getting there might take some work. The streaming service usually likes to order two seasons at a time. But recent filming issues could slow things down. Reports from this past summer claimed the fourth season fell a month behind schedule. This reportedly led to some serious meetings between the production crew and executives.
Despite those bumps in the road, the show is still pulling huge numbers. The latest season reportedly racked up nearly 300 million viewing minutes in the United States during its first two days alone. Sudeikis had previously mentioned wanting to gather writers by August for potential fifth and sixth seasons. We have not seen that happen yet, but his latest comments show he is clearly not ready to leave the locker room behind.
