The MacBook Pro lineup now starts at $1,999 for the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 and runs to $4,799 for the 16-inch MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display and M5 Max, before upgrades. Apple announced the MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display alongside the M6 model. Pre-orders open October 28, 2026, and both arrive Friday, November 6. This page lists every US price Apple publishes, plus education pricing and Apple Upgrade lease rates.
Apple’s online store renders most configuration prices with JavaScript, and the PROLED XDR release only gives starting prices. Where we couldn’t see a price on Apple’s own pages, the table says so. We don’t guess.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 starts at $1,999, or $1,899 with education savings
| Configuration | Price | Education price |
|---|---|---|
| M6, 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU, 16GB memory, 1TB SSD | $1,999 | $1,899 |
| M6 with 24GB memory | Apple doesn’t list this yet | Apple doesn’t list this yet |

| M6 with 2TB or 4TB SSD | Apple doesn’t list this yet | Apple doesn’t list this yet |
| Nano-texture display option | Apple doesn’t list this yet | Apple doesn’t list this yet |
Every M6 model uses the same chip, a 12-core CPU with a 12-core GPU. Apple says no other chip configuration is available for M6, so you’re only choosing memory (16GB, 24GB or 32GB), storage (1TB, 2TB or 4TB), the display glass and the colour, space black or silver. It ships with a 70W USB-C Power Adapter.

Apple gives the 14-inch model a 14.2-inch display and the 16-inch model a 16.3-inch display. Both come in space black and silver, and both offer nano-texture glass. The starting prices above are for each chip’s base memory and storage. What this means for you: the jump from M5 Pro to M5 Max on the 14-inch costs $1,600 at list price, so only pay it if your work needs the bigger GPU or more memory.
Memory and storage upgrades on the PROLED models go up to 128GB and 16TB, but Apple hasn’t shown upgrade prices
| Chip | Memory options | Storage options | Upgrade price |

The power adapter in the box depends on the model. The 14-inch with the 15-core M5 Pro gets a 70W adapter, the other 14-inch models get 96W, and every 16-inch model gets 140W.
Apple’s store doesn’t list separate M5 Pro or M5 Max Liquid Retina XDR MacBook Pro models with prices
Apple’s store page lists 15 MacBook Pro configurations. Every M5 Pro and M5 Max one we saw matches the PROLED XDR lineup’s chip options, and the store shows no separately priced Liquid Retina XDR M5 Pro or M5 Max model. If Apple still sells one, it doesn’t list a price for it on the store page we checked, so we’ve left it out of the tables.
Apple Upgrade lets you lease a MacBook Pro from $38.99 a month in the US
| Model | 36-month lease | 24-month lease |
|---|---|---|
| 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 ($1,999) | $38.99/month | $53.99/month |
| 14-inch MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display, M5 Pro ($2,899) | $55.99/month | $78.99/month |
| Other configurations | Apple doesn’t list this yet | Apple doesn’t list this yet |
Klarna provides the leases. They’re for eligible US customers only, subject to credit approval, and need no security deposit. Prices exclude taxes and trade-in credit. Ending a lease early can cost you up to the remaining payments, and if you do nothing at the end of the term, it rolls to month-to-month for up to six months, possibly at a higher rate. Apple Upgrade isn’t available through education purchase programs.

What changed from the previous MacBook Pro, using Apple’s own figures
- The 14-inch PROLED XDR model is half a pound lighter at 3 lb, and the 16-inch is 0.7 lb lighter at 4 lb.
- The 14-inch is about 0.5 mm thinner and the 16-inch is nearly 1 mm thinner.
- Apple rates battery life at up to 24 hours, with a 50% charge in about 30 minutes.
- The M6 model replaces the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5.
- Apple’s releases don’t give the previous models’ prices, so we can’t compare them here.
Most people should buy the $1,999 M6 model, and only pros with heavy GPU work should go to M5 Max
If you write code, edit photos or cut the odd video, the 14-inch M6 at $1,999 is the one to get. Bump it to 24GB if you keep lots of apps open. You’ll want the PROLED XDR model for its new display and Thunderbolt 5 ports, and the $2,899 M5 Pro is the sensible entry point there. The M5 Max only earns its $4,499 price if you render 3D, run local AI models or grade high-resolution video every day. Students should buy through the education store, which takes $100 to $300 off the models above.
Prices checked October 28, 2026, and we’ll update this page when Apple changes them
We checked the Apple newsroom releases, the MacBook Pro spec pages and the Apple Store on October 28, 2026. Prices are US dollars before tax. Apple can change prices without notice, so confirm the final figure at checkout.
