OLED iPad mini price: $699 to $1,249 for every storage and Cellular model

iPad mini running ZBrush

The new iPad mini starts at $699 for the 128GB Wi-Fi model and $849 for Wi-Fi + Cellular in the US. The top model, 512GB with cellular and nano-texture glass, costs $1,249. With education savings, the iPad mini starts at $649. Pre-orders open Wednesday, October 28, and it arrives Friday, November 6. This page lists every configuration price Apple shows, plus Apple Pencil and Smart Folio pricing.

The iPad mini Wi-Fi model costs $699 to $1,099 depending on storage and glass

256GB$799$899
512GB$999$1,099

The iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular model costs $849 to $1,249

256GB$949$1,049
512GB$1,149$1,249

Prices are the same in midnight and starlight. Cellular adds $150 at every tier, and nano-texture glass adds $100. The cellular model uses eSIM only, so it won’t take a physical SIM card. Apple’s store also lists AT&T and Verizon versions but shows no separate price for them. What this means for you: the 512GB model gets a 6-core CPU and dual Neural Engines, while the 128GB and 256GB models get a 5-core CPU, so storage also changes performance.

Education pricing takes $50 off the iPad mini, but Apple only shows the starting price

What changed from the previous iPad mini, using Apple’s own figures

  • Apple calls this the biggest update ever to iPad mini.
  • It moves to the A20 Pro chip.
  • The display is now an 8.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED panel at 2316 by 1512 pixels.
  • Nano-texture glass is a new option on 256GB and 512GB models.
  • Cellular models use Apple’s C2 modem with 5G.
  • Apple’s release doesn’t give the previous model’s price, so we can’t compare it here.

The 256GB Wi-Fi iPad mini at $799 is the configuration most people should buy

128GB is tight once you add offline video and a few games, and $100 more doubles it. Skip cellular unless you really work away from Wi-Fi, because tethering to your iPhone costs nothing. Only buy the 512GB model if you want the faster 6-core chip for pro apps. Nano-texture glass is great outdoors, but it’s an extra $100 most people won’t need.
