Apple TV is taking one of its biggest new shows of 2026 to theaters, with Widow’s Bay getting special one-night-only screenings at select AMC Theatres on August 12. The event will show the final three episodes of the first season, giving fans a chance to watch the horror comedy’s ending on the big screen.

Deadline reports that Apple TV has partnered with Rutgers University, the alma mater of series creator Katie Dippold, to organize the free screenings across six US cities. The participating theaters are in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco, with every screening scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. local time.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Rutgers University to bring Widow’s Bay to fans and give them a chance to experience the final episodes of the season in a shared setting,” Apple TV programming chief Matt Cherniss said.

Widow’s Bay screenings will include the final three episodes

The theatrical event includes three episodes running for 33 minutes, 31 minutes, and 48 minutes, bringing the total viewing time to just under two hours. The season finale originally arrived on Apple TV on June 17, so the screenings give existing fans another way to revisit the ending together.

Widow’s Bay stars Matthew Rhys as Mayor Tom Loftis, who tries to turn an isolated and struggling island into a tourist destination despite locals warning that the island carries a curse. His plan eventually attracts visitors, but strange events soon prove that the old stories surrounding the island have more truth behind them than he expected.

The series has earned 19 Emmy nominations and Apple TV has already renewed it for a second season. Apple has also signed Dippold to an overall deal following the show’s breakout first season.
