The episode begins after a recording points suspicion toward Damian, giving Chief Escobedo and the other detectives what looks like a strong lead. The department quickly turns Damian into its main suspect and launches a manhunt.
However, the case becomes more complicated when a television producer is attacked outside his home. The attacker lets him live after demanding that another recording be broadcast, which includes a new confession from an officer.
The development creates more public pressure on the police while also raising questions about whether Damian really fits the pattern.
Valentina later receives a call from Damian, who insists that he is innocent and says someone can confirm his whereabouts. The Azules decide to investigate his story instead of accepting the department’s conclusion.
Meanwhile, other officers find Damian and use violent methods while questioning him. Gerardo eventually intervenes after the Azules verify Damian’s alibi.
The alibi comes with another surprise. Damian had been having an affair with a married woman, and their relationship also involves a child. It clears him from the immediate accusation, forcing investigators to reconsider the direction of the case.
The killer is still several steps ahead
Episode 4 strengthens one of Season 2’s biggest themes by showing how quickly investigators can reach a conclusion when public and political pressure begins to build.
The Azules take a slower approach and keep looking at the evidence, which helps prevent the department from placing the entire case on the wrong suspect.
The killer also appears to have a wider purpose. The recordings and attacks continue exposing corrupt officers, while anti-police anger grows around the city.
Season 2 began with María, now a lieutenant, investigating the murder of a student activist. That case soon became connected to another victim and eventually to Mexico’s 1968 student massacre, revealing that the killings have deeper historical links.
María and Romandía move closer
The episode also develops María’s personal story.
After another difficult encounter with Alejandro, María spends time with Romandía and finally acts on their attraction. Their relationship becomes more complicated when Alejandro unexpectedly arrives at the bowling alley and confronts them.
The conflict leaves María dealing with both her growing feelings for Romandía and continuing tension with Alejandro.
With Damian cleared and the real killer still active, Women in Blue Season 2 Episode 4 leaves the Azules with an even harder investigation ahead.
