Spoilers: Who betrayed Lucky?

Cary betrayed Lucky by stealing the money, leaving her behind and hiding his connection to his mother’s plan.

However, Episode 4 shows that Cary’s actions were more complicated than Lucky first believed. Priscilla pressured him to recover the stolen money after leaving prison. Cary initially planned to return it to his mother, believing she would leave Lucky alone once she received what she wanted.

Instead, Cary kept the money and tried to run. He also admits that he should have told Lucky the truth before abandoning her. Lucky cannot easily forgive him because his decision left her exposed to the FBI and Priscilla’s criminal organisation.

Their confrontation also reveals Lucky’s betrayal. Years earlier, FBI Agent Billie Rand persuaded Lucky to become an informant against Priscilla. Lucky accepted the deal after Rand promised protection for Lucky, Cary and her father, John.

Cary never knew that Lucky had secretly worked with the FBI. While Lucky viewed the agreement as a way to protect her family, Cary saw it as another lie inside their marriage.

Agent Rand also betrayed Lucky

Episode 4 opens with a flashback showing Rand approaching a younger Lucky. Rand explains that John became involved in Priscilla’s fuel scam and took $10 million from the operation.

Rand promises that John will avoid prison if Lucky helps the FBI catch Priscilla. However, she later admits that she cannot secure immunity for him.

Lucky feels used because she agreed to cooperate based on Rand’s original promise. John eventually goes to prison, while Lucky loses trust in the FBI and continues running from Rand in the present timeline.

Does Cary die in Lucky Episode 4?

Lucky and Cary briefly put their anger aside when the FBI raids their hideout. They escape and attempt to outrun both law enforcement and Priscilla during a violent car chase.

Cary opens fire while Lucky drives, but a bullet damages their vehicle and causes a serious crash. Lucky wakes up and discovers that Cary has been fatally shot.

Before dying, Cary tells Lucky that he does not regret their relationship. Lucky kisses him goodbye and leaves the wreck before the FBI arrives. Priscilla later reaches the crash site and breaks down after seeing her son’s body.

Cary’s death removes Lucky’s only possible partner and gives Priscilla a personal reason to seek revenge. Episode 5 will likely follow Lucky as she deals with Cary’s death while Priscilla blames her for what happened.
