The best version of that story does not treat faith as a hurdle to clear. It lets Joanne decide what she believes and why she is willing to learn. Silverman’s comic timing could make the class lively, but the role has room to bring warmth and honesty when Joanne wants an easier answer than the process can offer.
Sebastien arrives with a history Joanne cannot ignore
Rannells plays Sebastien, a person from Joanne’s past who becomes part of her present class. The setup gives the season a compact source of tension: he knows an earlier version of Joanne, while Noah is trying to understand the choices she is making now. That is more useful than a generic romantic rival because it asks whether people can outgrow the story others tell about them.
Netflix has also confirmed Keyla Monterroso Mejia and a small onscreen appearance by Foster. Those additions suggest Season 3 will continue to let the supporting circle complicate the leads’ decisions, not merely comment on them from the sidelines.
The newcomers can test commitment without repeating Season 1
Joanne and Noah have already moved past the first question of whether their attraction is real.
