Netflix has not announced Not a Stranger Season 2 as of October 3, 2026. The Turkish thriller has clearly found an audience: Netflix’s non-English television chart put its first season at No. 1 for the week of September 21–27, with 9.7 million views. That strong week is evidence of interest, not a renewal order.
For now, Netflix lists one eight-episode season. There is no confirmed second-season cast, production start or release date. The answer to whether Funda, Nazlı and İlker will return is therefore simple but provisional: a continuation is possible, yet the platform has not said it is happening.
- Season 1: Eight episodes
- Genre: Turkish psychological thriller
- Streaming on: Netflix
- Season 2 status: Unannounced
The audience numbers are real, but they are not an order
On its official global chart, Netflix reported 9.7 million views and 65.7 million hours viewed for Not a Stranger in the September 21–27 measurement week. The program ranked first among non-English shows and had been on that chart for two weeks. Those figures explain why people are asking about a follow-up.

They cannot answer the renewal question alone. Netflix may weigh viewing over a longer period, completion and other factors that are not disclosed in the chart. A headline saying the show has already been renewed would require a separate announcement from Netflix or its makers. None appears in the platform’s current series materials.
The first season centers on a damaged household
Elçin Sangu plays Funda, a painter and new mother eager to return to her work. She hires Nazlı, played by Melis Sezen, to help care for her daughter Mavi. The arrangement becomes threatening when Funda learns that her husband İlker, played by Ozan Dolunay, had an affair with Nazlı years earlier. Netflix’s official guide identifies that old relationship as the engine of the mystery.
The show is an original story created and written by Tuğba Doğan, rather than an adaptation with a known second book to follow. That means a future season would need a new dramatic direction, not simply the next volume of a pre-existing plot. Netflix’s episode descriptions indicate that Funda’s family reaches a serious crisis by the finale, but a possible next chapter remains unannounced.
What to watch for next
The most meaningful update would be a direct commission from Netflix, followed by details about returning performers and production. A chart position, a social-media theory or a “Season 1” label on the service is not enough. Until the company speaks, any release-window prediction would be guesswork.
We will update this status when there is an attributable announcement. The first eight episodes remain available to stream, and the story has given viewers plenty to discuss even without a promised sequel.
