‘Spartacus’ and ‘Nashville’ are preparing to leave Netflix in the United States, bringing two surprisingly short licensing runs to an end roughly one year after both shows returned to the streaming service.
Netflix added all six seasons of ‘Nashville’ on September 15, 2025, shortly after the country music drama left Hulu. ‘Spartacus’ followed on September 23, 2025, returning to Netflix US after an absence of more than five years.
Both shows brought complete collections to Netflix
‘Nashville’ gives subscribers a considerably longer binge, with six seasons and 124 episodes. The drama originally premiered on ABC in 2012 and ran there for four seasons before its cancellation. A successful fan campaign helped revive the series at CMT, where another two seasons eventually took the story through its 2018 finale.

The series stars Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere and follows established and rising country music stars as they deal with careers, relationships and the competitive Nashville music scene.
‘Spartacus’ offers four seasons, including ‘Blood and Sand,’ ‘Gods of the Arena,’ ‘Vengeance’ and ‘War of the Damned.’ The historical action drama stars Andy Whitfield, Liam McIntyre, Lucy Lawless, Manu Bennett, John Hannah and Peter Mensah.
Short Netflix runs are coming to an end
Both additions arrived in September 2025 as licensed shows rather than Netflix originals. Their roughly one-year stays underline how quickly third-party titles can move between streaming services when licensing agreements expire.
‘Spartacus’ previously spent several years on Netflix before leaving the US catalog in January 2020. Its 2025 return therefore marked a major comeback for subscribers who wanted another way to stream the complete Starz series.
With both shows now approaching the end of their latest Netflix runs, subscribers interested in watching either complete series should prioritize them before they disappear from the US catalog.
