Apple just made the new release candidates for macOS Tahoe 26.7 and macOS Sequoia 15.8 available for registered developers to test out today. These late stage builds give users a chance to see what is coming right before the final software rolls out to the general public. The updates focus primarily on security improvements and system stability rather than bringing big new features to your computer.

You can download these updates directly from your system settings

If you want to grab the software, the process is simple. Make sure your computer is linked to an account with developer access before you begin. Here is how to get it running on your machine:

  • Open the System Settings app on your Mac.
  • Click on the General section in the sidebar.
  • Choose Software Update from the available menu.
  • Select the developer beta option and click download.

As the release candidate stage usually means the software is almost finished, we probably will not see any major changes between this version and the public launch. Apple is simply using this time to patch up remaining bugs and ensure macOS runs smoothly for everyone.

If no huge problems show up during this final testing period, this same build will soon head to all users. Anyone running macOS Tahoe or the older Sequoia software should prepare their machines for the upcoming public release.

Taking a few minutes to install these patches helps keep your machine protected from known issues. Head into your settings today and get your system updated before the official launch happens in the coming days.
