Tulsa King has officially been renewed for Season 5, and production is moving from Atlanta to New York. The change supports a story that brings Dwight Manfredi closer to his Mafia roots, according to the renewal reporting and Paramount Television Studios’ statement about the character’s next evolution.

The move does not mean the series has already abandoned Tulsa or written out Dwight’s Oklahoma crew. It confirms where Season 5 will shoot and establishes a New York direction for its lead. Season 4 still has to show what forces Dwight east and which relationships survive that transition.

  • Genre: Crime drama
  • Streaming on: Paramount+

New York puts Dwight back near the life that exiled him

Dwight’s premise began with New York organized crime sending him to Oklahoma after a long prison sentence. Tulsa gave him room to build an operation outside the family that discarded him. Returning to New York can reverse that arrangement by placing his new power against the old system that created it.

The fourth season already strengthens that connection through Quiet Ray Renzetti, a powerful Mafia boss whose rivalry with Dwight continues to intensify. The Season 5 location gives that conflict a natural center without proving that every episode will take place there.

Production has started with an expanded cast

Season 5 production began with Sylvester Stallone continuing as Dwight. Scarlet Rose Stallone has been promoted to series regular as Spencer. Erik Palladino, Glenn Fleshler, Nickola Shreli and Anthony Skordi are also joining as series regulars, although their character details have not all been disclosed.

Those additions suggest that New York will bring a substantial new network around Dwight rather than functioning as a brief visit. They do not confirm departures for Martin Starr, Jay Will, Garrett Hedlund, Dana Delany or the rest of the established ensemble.

Season 4 must build the road out of Tulsa

Paramount+ renewed the show before Season 4’s October 16 premiere. That season follows Dwight as he tries to legitimize his empire, protect his crew from political and criminal enemies, and deal with personal loss. Its ending now has a confirmed destination to prepare.

The important distinction is that filming in New York and a story tied to Dwight’s Mafia roots are confirmed, while the fate of the Tulsa operation remains open. The renewal promises expansion, not a completed relocation on screen. It also lets the series test whether Dwight has genuinely built a new family or simply recreated the hierarchy that once punished him. New York will put that claim under pressure from people who remember him before Tulsa. Which member of Dwight’s crew should follow him east? Share your choice below.
