Apple has partnered with Netflix to bring Formula 1: Drive to Survive to Apple TV ahead of the first Grand Prix of the season. The deal gives Apple TV users access to the entire new season of the hit F1 documentary series, and it also includes live streaming rights for a major race in May.
Through this agreement, Apple will stream season eight of Formula 1: Drive to Survive directly inside the Apple TV app. In addition, the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix will stream on both Apple TV and Netflix in the United States on May 22. This move expands F1 coverage across both platforms at the start of the new racing calendar.

Drive to Survive Season Eight Now on Apple TV
Season eight of Drive to Survive drops at midnight tonight and includes eight episodes covering the 2025 Formula One World Championship. The series, produced by Netflix in collaboration with Formula One, gives fans behind-the-scenes access to drivers, team principals, and race strategies throughout the season.
Apple’s services chief Eddy Cue addressed the partnership and highlighted Netflix’s role in growing the sport’s audience:
“We’re excited today to announce something I think that no one was expecting, and that is that we’ve teamed up with Netflix. And we’re going to make the entire season of F1: Drive to Survive, the new season, available to stream right within Apple TV itself. This is the new season eight, it drops tonight at midnight.
In addition to that, we’ve collaborated together so that the Canadian Grand Prix, which is on May 22nd, is also going to stream on Apple TV and Netflix in the US.
As you know, Netflix, I think, has played a pivotal role in growing F1 since the launch of Drive to Survive, and we’re thrilled to make F1 content more broadly available to new and existing US fans on both Netflix and Apple TV.”
The first race of the new season takes place on March 7 with the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Australian Grand Prix 2026. Starting this year, Apple TV subscribers can stream all F1 races at no extra charge, which strengthens Apple’s push into live sports and premium motorsport coverage.
