Apple has updated its U.S. trade-in values, cutting the maximum credit for every older eligible iPhone while raising maximum estimates across the iPad and Mac lineups.

The changes apply to Apple’s U.S. estimates and should not be used as official pricing in another country. Apple Trade In values vary by market, accepted device list and local program rules. An iPhone owner outside the U.S. should check the Apple Store for their country rather than convert a dollar amount.

Apple’s updated U.S. Trade In list puts iPhone 17 Pro Max at up to $885, iPhone 17 Pro at up to $785, and iPhone Air and iPhone 17 at up to $585. The maximum estimate for iPhone 16 Pro Max is now $610, down from $720, while iPhone 16 Pro is now $510, down from $630. Apple’s Trade In page remains the source to check the current value for a specific device.

The values are U.S. estimates, not a cash price or a guarantee. Apple determines the final credit after inspection, and the result can change if the device condition differs from the description. Apple’s current program also offers up to $1,200 in carrier credits toward an iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max for eligible iPhone 14-or-later trade-ins, which is a separate offer with its own conditions.

Anyone comparing an Apple offer with a carrier promotion or private resale should separate instant trade-in credit from bill credits and sale proceeds. Our international trade-in guide explains why Apple’s process differs by country.
