The Apple Intelligence tier your iPhone lands in is not the only thing deciding what you get on Monday. Six features Apple has announced are dated after September 14, or not dated at all, and no iPhone escapes that, including the iPhone 18 Pro that reaches stores on Friday.
Apple publishes these dates feature by feature, in small print next to each one, rather than in a single list. Put them together and the picture on release day is narrower than the iOS 27 page suggests at a glance.
Key facts
| Item | What Apple publishes |
|---|---|
| iOS 27 release | Monday, September 14, 2026, free |
| Siri AI status on day one | Beta, English to start |
| Apple Intelligence features dated later | Six, by our count of Apple’s own wording |
| Latest firm date Apple gives | October, for five more Siri AI languages |
| Vaguest wording | Coming in a future software update, with no month |
| Hardware floor for Apple Intelligence | iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 or later |
The six features that are not ready on Monday
| Feature | Apple’s timing |
|---|---|
| Siri AI in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish | October |
| Messages Suggestions | Coming in a future software update |
| Passwords security alerts with automatic updating | Coming in a future software update |
| Live Rewind and Siri Recap on Apple Watch | Beta later in 2026 |
| Redesigned Health app with Insights and Longevity | Later this year, starting in US English |
| Apple Intelligence languages beyond the October five | No date published |
Only one of those has a month attached. The rest sit in wording that does not commit Apple to anything more precise than a year, and one of them has no timing at all.

What beta means for Siri AI itself
The headline feature is a beta on release day. Apple describes Siri AI as available in beta in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27 and visionOS 27, available in English to start, and not available to users under 13.
Apple has not published what the beta label changes in practice, whether it ends with a point release, or what the exit criteria are. It is a label on a shipping feature in a shipping OS, not an opt-in programme, which is a distinction worth keeping straight when weighing the iPhone 18 Pro on its intelligence features.
The features that do arrive on day one
Plenty does land on Monday. Apple lists Image Playground with photorealistic images, Genmoji, Spatial Reframing, the Extend tool and the enhanced Clean Up tool in Photos, Image Wand in Notes, Safari tab topics and Notify Me, Mail search ranking, Siri mode in Camera, Live Translation, Calendar event descriptions and Shortcuts built from a description.
Two of those carry their own conditions rather than dates. Image Playground and the photo editing tools are named in Apple’s daily usage limits footnote, and Safari Notify Me is English only. The distinction is that these exist on Monday, whereas the six above do not.
Why this matters more than the tier you are in
A hardware gate is at least knowable. You can check whether you own an iPhone 15 Pro or better, and you can check whether you own one of the six iPhones in the top tier that adds Siri voice customization and the newer Dictation model. A date that reads later this year cannot be checked at all.
It also cuts across the buying decision this week. Pre-orders for iPhone 18 Pro at $1,199 open today and the phone arrives Friday, September 18, while the iPhone Duo ships on October 23 running iOS 27.1 rather than iOS 27.0. Neither device gets a single one of the six features earlier than anyone else, because the gate is the software, not the silicon.
What Apple has not said
Apple has published no date for Messages Suggestions or for the Passwords alerts, no month for Live Rewind, Siri Recap or the redesigned Health app, and no release date for iOS 27.1. It has not said when Siri AI leaves beta, has not named the languages that follow the October five, and has not published a time of day for Monday’s update.
Our iOS 27 release guide covers what ships on Monday, September 14. We will update this list as each of the six gets a date, and the next scheduled moment is the October arrival of the five additional Siri AI languages.
