Apple has reportedly started inviting selected journalists to an all-day product launch experience in Los Angeles on October 28, 2026. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the event will focus on Apple’s first touchscreen MacBooks, a redesigned iPad mini, and new Macs powered by the M6 chip.
The invitation follows earlier reports of an October 27 launch, which we previously covered. Apple could announce the products through an online presentation on October 27 before allowing journalists to try them in person the following day.
What to Expect From Apple’s October 28 Event
The biggest announcement could be Apple’s first touchscreen MacBook Pro, bringing direct touch input to macOS alongside a redesigned display.

The expected products include:
- Touchscreen MacBook Pro: Redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch models featuring OLED displays, Dynamic Island, thinner and lighter designs, and potentially M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.
- M6 MacBook Pro: An updated 14-inch model featuring Apple’s next-generation M6 processor.
- M6 iMac: A refreshed desktop Mac with the M6 chip and expected performance improvements.
- OLED iPad mini: A new compact tablet featuring OLED technology, an upgraded processor, and a landscape-oriented front camera.
As we previously reported, the OLED iPad mini could arrive by November, bringing deeper blacks, improved contrast, and a more convenient camera position for video calls.
Will Apple Livestream the October 28 Event?
Apple has yet to announce a public livestream or confirm when the new devices will officially launch.
The company recently followed a similar approach for its October 13 smart home announcements, offering journalists hands-on access to new products.
For now, October 28 remains the reported date for the media experience, while October 27 is still a possible announcement date. Apple has not confirmed pricing, preorders, or availability for the upcoming Macs and iPad mini.
