A new comparison video has highlighted several James Bond references in Apple’s “Surprise and Shine” keynote, including a Skyfall-style reveal and a camera sequence that resembles the franchise’s famous gun-barrel opening.
Visual-effects artist Todd Vaziri collected the comparisons in a video on his FXRant site. The references are visual analysis, not an Apple statement that it intentionally recreated particular Bond scenes.
The video points to the keynote’s opening film, which moves through several movie-like setups before introducing Apple chief executive John Ternus. One comparison places the presentation’s silhouette and coastline sequence next to the opening of 2012’s Skyfall. Another compares Ternus walking in profile with Bond imagery.

The iPhone camera link
The most playful match comes when the keynote introduces the iPhone 18 Pro’s variable-aperture camera. Vaziri’s video puts the circular aperture animation beside the Bond gun-barrel motif, showing why viewers made the connection.
Apple’s full event video is the best place to watch the original sequences in context. Apple confirmed that iPhone 18 Pro introduces a variable-aperture Main camera, but it has not described the keynote shots as Bond homages.
The comparisons also underline how much the opening functioned as a product demonstration. Apple says the keynote was filmed on iPhone 18 Pro, and the shifting styles give the camera feature a cinematic showcase before the hardware appears on screen. The Bond parallels are a fun visual reading, rather than new information about Apple’s product plans or a James Bond project. They are also easy to spot without changing the meaning of the announcement itself.
