Apple has raised the starting price of the iPhone 17 in the U.S. from $799 to $899, adding $100 to the year-old model shortly after unveiling the new iPhone 18 Pro lineup.
The change comes alongside wider price increases across Apple’s existing iPhone lineup. The iPhone 17e now starts at $699, the iPhone Air costs $1,099, and the iPhone 16 starts at $799. Each model received a $100 increase.
Apple’s iPhone lineup just became more expensive
Apple also increased prices at the top of its lineup. The new iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max begins at $1,299, making both models $100 more expensive than their predecessors. Apple has discontinued the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max following the launch.

The higher prices arrive as Apple faces rising component costs, particularly for memory and storage chips amid strong demand from AI data centers.
With the regular iPhone 18 absent from Apple’s September launch, the $899 iPhone 17 remains the company’s current standard iPhone option for buyers who do not want a Pro model.
