Apple has released iOS 26.5, iPadOS 26.5, macOS 26.5, watchOS 26.5, tvOS 26.5, and visionOS 26.5 with a long list of security fixes that affect iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple Watches, Apple TV, and Vision Pro devices. While the update also includes new features, Apple is putting a strong focus on security this time because iOS 26.5 alone fixes more than 50 vulnerabilities.
The update arrives alongside fresh security documentation from Apple that explains what changed across its software lineup. Even users who are not interested in new features should still install the update because several of the fixes address system-level security issues that affect daily device usage.

Apple also pushed updates for older operating systems, so users with unsupported devices still receive important security improvements.
Those releases include:
- iOS 18.7.9 and iPadOS 18.7.9
- iPadOS 17.7.11
- iOS 16.7.16 and iPadOS 16.7.16
- iOS 15.8.8 and iPadOS 15.8.8
- macOS Sequoia 15.7.7
- macOS Sonoma 14.8.7
Most of the older iPhone and iPad updates include a notification privacy fix that Apple first introduced in iOS 26.4.2 last month. The fix prevents deleted notifications from being recovered, which closes a privacy issue that affected older software versions.
Users can install the latest updates by opening Settings, selecting General, and then tapping Software Update on supported devices.
